Giganti,by Fabio Mollo, short film – 15 mins
La Minaccia, by Silvia Luzi and Luca Bellino, documentary – 86 mins
- 7:00pm Round Table Conversation and discussion with the winning filmakers and guest speakers, names TBA.


Through the Young Italian Film Directors Prize, the Italian Cultural Institute of New York aims to reaffirm its strong interest in Italian cinema. The winning directors Silvia Luzi, Luca Bellino and Fabio Mollo, will attend.
At this event they have the opportunity to get acquainted with significant American cinema representatives and to present their works to high profile experts. This program will also enable them to live a unique experience in the city that has always been an ideal setting for cinema.

Luca Bellino was born in Salerno. He is the author of several documentaries, among them I fuochi e la Montagna and Mate Y Moneda, that won various awards. He worked also as a videoartist in Argentina and Chile. Most of Bellino’s movies are focused on politics and migration topics.

Silvia Luzi was born in Ascoli Piceno. As a journalist, her main focus is in international affairs, she worked for il Corriere della Sera, il Messaggero and in TG1 editorial board and made a considerable amount of reportage from Africa.

Fabio Mollo was born in Reggio Calabria and he graduated in History of Cinema at the University of East London and in Direction at Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia di Roma. He attended a screenwriting workshop with Gabriel García Márquez and, in 2005, he was finalist in the Solinas Prize.
